Top spot for Rea on day 2

087_t04_rea_ambienceJonathan Rea (Castrol Honda) proved the most effective of the 12 riders who took to the track in a weather-affected afternoon session, taking advantage of slowly drying track conditions to record a 1'54.718. The lap times were held back by a track surface that saw several small drops of rain through the whole day, eradicating any dry lines that were formed when the rains had moved on.

Marco Melandri (Yamaha World Superbike Team) went second quickest, Carlos Checa was third for Althea Racing Ducati and Sylvain Guintoli (Effenbert Liberty Ducati) slotted into fourth.

The other Effenbert Liberty Ducati rider Jakub Smrz was fifth, Tom Sykes sixth and the only Kawasaki rider to take to the track this afternoon.
