BWG Racing in Superstock 1000 with Bergman

bwg_bergman_vallelunga_3The BWG Racing Kawasaki team is limbering up for its second season in the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup with some good results. The Rome-based squad, under the guidance of team manager Marco Lobello, recently took part in a Winter Trophy event at the Vallelunga circuits on the outskirts of the capital, taking the win in the Open category thanks to a great performance by its leading rider Christoffer "Chris" Bergman.

Bergman, 22 years of age from Säffle (Sweden), 2010 Swedish Pro Superbike champion, will defend the colours of the Italian team in the 2012 FIM Cup after competing in a trio of events with them at the Nürburgring, Magny-Cours and Portimão this last season. His best result was a 14th place at the Algarve circuit. The team's plans include an eventual second rider alongside Bergman, with the aim of getting the most out of their campaign in this category.

"Now we must concentrate on 2012," admitted Lobello. "We'll have our first tests at the end of February and then some others in March. We'll prepare the new bikes with the support of Kawasaki Europe and Kawasaki Italia, and will be searching for another rider to line up alongside Chris".
