Bogdanka Honda rider Szkopek up and down

021_p07_szkopek_actionPolish rider Pawel Szkopek has no real home race, but Brno is as close as he will get in 2011. The multiple national champion had a good support on the banking which surround the Brno circuit, and he even showed top 10 potential on Sunday, going ninth quickest in the morning warm-up before being taken out of his home World Supersport race at Brno in the Czech Republic on the opening lap. Szkopek is just outside the top 20 but has been very unlucky with non finishes, having now had five from seven races.

Said Szkopek on Sunday, "I got taken out by another rider on the first lap. I tried to continue but the bike was too damaged and I had to pull in. It was very unlucky but the whole weekend was really good. I was very fast and inside the top 10 this morning and it was a big confidence boost as our goal is to fight for the top 10 in the second half of the season. I'd like to thank the Polish fans for all the support. It's a pity I couldn't reward them with a strong result but we'll try hard in the next round at Silverstone."
