Motor sport: Gelsenkirchen track ruled unfit for Speedway finale
The climax of the world championship in Gelsenkirchen descended into anticlimax on Saturday when the track was ruled unfit, which means the German grand prix will now be held in Poland this Saturday.
The official reason was "adverse weather conditions during construction affecting the moisture levels in the dirt" - even though the German track is indoors.
Nicki Pedersen, Denmark's defending champion and front-runner, will now take his 16-point lead over Australia's Jason Crump to Bydgoszcz.
