Casey Stoner takes advantage of Dani Pedrosa crash to win Czech MotoGP
• Stoner secures sixth victory of season in Brno
• Australian extends lead in world championship
Casey Stoner won the Czech MotoGP to extend his lead in the world championship. The Australian finished 22 laps of the Brno circuit in 43min 16.796sec on his Honda to claim his sixth victory of the season.
Starting third on the grid, Stoner went ahead on the second lap after the Spaniard Dani Pedrosa, who began on pole, crashed. Stoner, chasing his second championship title, dominated the rest of the race.
He steadily increased his lead to seal a second straight win following his victory in California and his 29th overall in MotoGP.
The Italian Andrea Dovizioso finished second, 6.532sec behind and another Italian Marco Simoncelli was third 7.792 back to complete a Honda clean sweep.
