With almost 40 miles of racing circuit, this famous road race event offers the ideal weekend, week or fortnight of action for bikers, petrolheads and motorsport fans. The Tourist Trophy race is a time trial on public roads, with motorcycles zipping around the island at well over 100mph. Fortunately, the roads are closed to other traffic at the time. Motorsport celebrities such as Murray Walker and Bradley Smith will be on hand, with other attractions including lightweight and sidecar races. Whitesnake and the amusingly named Red Hot Chilli Pipers head up the the accompanying music festival.
